How to Mount a Coat Rack on the Wall Without Drilling

Installing a wall-mounted coat rack is a much less complicated DIY task then it sounds. And it's even easier when you use FIX-PRO® Extreme Mounting Tape  instead of nails.

Read on to find out how to mount a coat rack on the wall without any nails, screws or drilling!

How to put up a coat rack without nails

STEP 1

Start by making sure the wall where you're planning to hang your coat rack is clean and dry. Wipe it with a damp cloth to remove any dust or dirt.

STEP 2

Next, take a roll of FIX-PRO® Extreme Mounting Tape  and cut it to the size you need.

This strong, double-sided mounting tape has a high performance adhesive on both sides that bonds with glass, metal, tile, stone, brick and wood so it's suitable for virtually anywhere that you want to hang your coat rack (including plasterboard walls in hallways and tiled walls in bathrooms).

And most importantly, it can hold up to 1.55 pounds per square inch, meaning it's strong enough to hold the weight of the heavy coats and jackets that you'll hang on it.

STEP 3

The next step is to attach the mounting tape to your coat rack. We'd recommend sticking a strip across the whole length of the coat rack to make the hold extra secure.

STEP 4

Finally, remove the red plastic backing and press the coat rack firmly against the wall.

Before you do this, we'd recommend using a spirit level and a pencil to draw a faint line on the wall where you want it to go. This will make sure your coat rack is straight.

And there you have a wall-mounted coat rack! Wait 24 hours before you hang anything on it as this will allow the adhesive to properly bond with the wall.
