If you love to travel, then you'll probably love to reflect your love of travel in your home decor. And a travel themed gallery wall is one of our favourite ways to do it!
Quick and easy to put together, a travel inspired gallery wall is a wonderful way to display precious holiday memories or capture the feeling of wanderlust! Read on for inspiration!
The first step of creating a travel gallery wall is to choose your frames (you can actually do this before or after you've chosen your artwork - it's up to you). We chose four same-sized black picture frames to create quite a uniform look.
Next, choose a selection of travel-themed artwork that inspires wanderlust (with an inspirational quote or two thrown in, of course!) We went for monochrome artwork to match our black picture frames and create a stylish, modern look. But of course, it's up to you whether you fill your travel gallery wall with stylish prints or holiday photos.
Next, decide where to hang your travel themed gallery wall. Popular places to hang gallery walls are above the sofa, along a staircase, in the hallway and above your bed.
Remember to hang your gallery wall at eye level for best effect, which will mean hanging your pictures slightly lower in rooms where you tend to be sat down (living room, dining room, etc).
Now to start planning your travel gallery wall layout! The formation you choose is completely up to you but we have some layout ideas on this Pinterest board to give you some inspiration!
It's a good idea to plan your layout on the floor before you hang anything on the walls - that way you can experiment with different layouts before committing to attaching anything to the wall!
Last but not least, it's finally time to hang your travel themed gallery wall! If you rent or don't want to put holes in the walls, we'd recommend picking up a pack of VELCRO® Brand HANGables® Picture Hanging Corners.
They're perfect for hanging pictures on the wall without nails or screws and they're completely removable so they won't leave marks when you need to take your frames down.
You'll need four sets per picture frame - stick one half of each set on the wall/in each corner of your picture frame, and then leave the adhesive to set for one hour. Then press your frame firmly against the wall to secure it in place!
When you want to refresh your decor, simply slide the frame up and off the wall to take the frame off the wall.
